-"Why don't you ask?"

"I don't want to hear you lie to me."

This story is about lies and truth laid bare, and the disguises used to hide them. Peter Parker reveals himself - all of himself - to Lex Luthor, who's attempting to come to grips with his feelings towards Clark Kent. Years later, Lex calls on Peter's skills with a camera to snap pictures of Superman. In the process Peter discovers his subject's feelings towards Lex, and ultimately attempts to help things along.

The main focus of this story is Peter Parker, and through his ruminations on his relationships with his friend Harry Osbourne (who became the villain Hobgoblin) and Mary Jane, the love of his life, he and the readers gain insight to the way in which Lex and Clark circle one another. And what keeps them apart. There's a reveal late in the story that always gets me, and the final few lines work great as quiet closure. Large doses of angst, hot (hawt) sex, and an excellent Lex characterization; what else can you ask for?
