The 5 Times Corvo Attano Loved A God, and the 5 Times He Loved Someone Else Entirely.

Review:

Every time I read this, I'm always startled by the word count. FatHobbitLover does a fantastically good job of cramming a broad range of emotion into a small amount of words, making the characters' actions speak for their emotional state rather than spelling it out.

There's a delicious contrast between Corvo's messy, human emotions and the Outsider's initial apathy. It creates an emotional imbalance between the two, a restive, wholly unrequited connection that reaches from Corvo to the Outsider, but is doomed to never reach its mark. Fortunately for Corvo, mortality is an excellent equalizer.
