Review:

The first chapter of Burnin' Love drops Stitch into the middle of a clone Wars mission, where he is his normal immature inarticulate self, is semi-adopted as squad pet and then disappears as suddenly as he came.

akathecentimetre captures each character deftly, building an entertaining assortment of reactions to the oddity that is Stitch, but also a strong sense of underlying comradeship. In counterpont, it is strongly implied that Stitch outlived his loved ones and is alone in the world.

The following chapters are a series of bitter-sweet follow-ups as Stitch re-encounters the remains of this found family after Order 66 and tries to help. We know how badly the story ends for this group and encountering Stitch does little to change that. However, as in Lilo & Stitch, determined acceptance and kindness do a lot to paper over the cracks.

Burnin' Love is technically readable by people unfamiliar with one or both series, but canon, but unlikely to be much fun unless you know the characters and the basic plots. (This fic predates the newest Star Wars film, so no knowledge of that is necessary.)
