“Wednesday Night Boys:” is a dark prostitute fic with a happy ending, but a long road to get there; torture; graphic dub-con; discussion of non-con; discussion of child-abuse (non-sexual); the prostitutes in this fic are somewhere between 17 and 19; STDs; violence; discussion of former substance abuse; discussion of homophobia
“Home is a Name:” in many ways this is a far less dark fic, but there are several truly dark parts to this fic as well; characters with HIV; former substance abuse; non-graphic discussion of sexual and non-sexual child abuse (ages 11-15)

Ryan and Spencer look out for each other. They have been for a while now. They don’t need anybody else. But when Brendon shows up at the next corner, that all changes, no matter how hard Ryan tries to make everything stay the same.

When Gerard needs to hire a new case-worker he’s absolutely certain there’s no chance he’ll find someone actually qualified who will work for the amount of money he’s able to spend. But then Frank shows up. And not only is he qualified, he’s also hot. Not that Gerard’s going to say anything about that.

Mikey’s just living his life, giving two hundred percent to the clinic and taking care of Gerard. He gave up dating a year ago, and tech Ray isn’t going to convince him to change his mind. No matter how sweet Ray is.

There is no question in my mind that this is a spectacular ‘verse. Even the short coda’s are wonderful. Arsenic does a fantastic job at hurt/comfort fic, and this honestly may be her best fic out there. That being said, I really don’t get why she has them in the order she does. From particulars of the stories, it seems clear that “Home is a Name” starts out at least a year before “Wednesday Night Boys,” ending about a month or two either side of the beginning. And because of that, the relationships that are already established in “Wednesday Night Boys” are just beginning in “Home is a Name.”

Other than that, this series is one of those overpowering ones that is just about the most brilliant thing ever written. Either of the main stories can actually be read on their own with no back story necessary. Each of the relationships is perfect in its own way. And none of them have any repetitions. The series is by no means over-long, although I will admit the Fall-Out Boys addition was completely gratuitous and unnecessary. All in all, a stunning LONG fic, just make sure to have some tissues handy.

A friend pointed me here. Thank you for this, it's very sweet.

In answer to your questions: they're in the order they're in b/c that's how they were written. Wednesday was the first fic, HIAN grew out of it. And re: FOB, that was from a meme where people got to ask about certain scenes.

Yeah, kind of what I figured. Sorry, I didn't discover your website until recently and before than had only been reading when you posted on LJ.

I really did love this verse.
