RR -- Farewell, girlofjuly!

Due to RL concerns, girlofjuly is stepping down as a reccer. Join us in sending her of with good wishes by reccing fics in the fandoms she has recced herself.

- Psych
- Sherlock (BBC)
- Parks and recreations
- Fake News

Things to keep in mind:
-Recced stories can be any length, any fandom, and any pairing, as long as they fit the theme
-You don't need to write a review (unless you want to). All that you need to include are title, author, and link to the story (all parts if there are more than one).
-Stories as a single file are preferred, if available.
- WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING NEW RECCERS. Reccers are accepted by invitation only and the invitations are issued primarily based on their response to RR posts.  If you're interested, respond to this post (or one of the previous RR posts) with a full rec, including Title, Author, Rating, Pairing, Genres, Length, Summary, and Review (including details of why you liked the story).

Today's Topic: Farewell, girlofjuly

Thanks, and good luck!
Since I'm only really familiar with Sherlock... here's a mix of fics. I hope some are new to you!

Humorous Fics:

Title: Aptronyms
Author: Elapsed Spiral. Read it at http://community.livejournal.com/sherlockbbc/459124.html.
Summary: AU: John and Sherlock are just two guys with the bad luck to be named after the famous characters, and who constantly run into mysterious coincidences of the criminal kind.
Length: Short, just under 2,000 words
Pairings?: Gen

Title: The Goodge Street Gambit and the Controversial Non-Holmesian Principle
Author: Definewisdom. Read it at http://definewisdom.livejournal.com/36181.html.
Summary: Sherlock is the victim of John and Lestrade's game of Mornington Crescent. If you don't know that game, look it up first (and marvel at British humor) and then read this.
Length: Short
Pairings?: Gen

Title: My True Love Sent To Me
Author: Waffles. Read it at http://wafflestories.livejournal.com/6078.html.
Summary: An epistolary fic - well, texting - from the increasingly maddened POV of John. For some reason, Sherlock has taken "The Twelve Days of Christmas" as a how-to guide.
Length: Short, less tha 1,000 words
Pairings?: Sherlock/John

Sappy/Romance Fics:

Title: Like Bad Wallpaper
Author: Flawedamythyst. Read it at http://flawedamythyst.livejournal.com/372287.html.
Summary: In which John discovers that family weddings really are the worst way to spend an evening, and Sherlock solves a mystery.
Length: Medium, about 6,000 words
Pairings?: UST leading to Sherlock/John

Title: A Mile in His Shoes
Author: Mamfidd. Read it at http://community.livejournal.com/sherlockbbc/589025.html.
Summary: A pendant switches John and Sherlock's bodies right after a serious disagreement. Awkward attempts to hide the change as well as reconcile and admit their feelings ensue.
Length: Long, about 19,000 words
Pairings?: Sherlock/John

Serious Fics:

Title: John's Midnight Garden
Author: anon on meme. Read it at http://sherlockbbc-fic.livejournal.com/3114.html?thread=10501930.
Summary: John Watson dreams of a garden his whole life. Turns out, someone he knows is there too - if not as John expects him to appear.
Length: Medium
Pairings?: Gen

Title: Ain't Seen The Sunshine
Author: Emungere. Read it at http://eleanork.compromisingpositions.net/2010/12/aint-seen-the-sunshine/.
Summary: AU: John becomes Mycroft and Sherlock's nanny, based on his bodyguarding skills. Lestrade is the friendly policeman who's helpful when John thinks something fishy's going on at the Holmes' country estate. (The background mystery is a remix of the Hounds of the Baskervilles.)
Length: Long, about 27,000 words
Pairings?: John/Lestrade preslash

Not really one of my fandoms, but I found an amusing Sherlock fic a couple of weeks back. first chapter is gen/preslash, 2nd is more slashy. Based on iPhone's autocorrect/random-word-replacement.

Auto Incorrect » by AristaHolmes
Sherlock knows where the keys on his phone are, and he doesn't need to proof read his texts which leads to some interesting messages for John Watson.

TXT MESSAGE FROM:
SHERLOCK HOLMES

Want your cock. Lestrade said it would be polite to ask first.

TXT MESSAGE FROM:
JOHN WATSON

9.28 AM

Sherlock, I thought you said you were married to your work?

I'm open to the idea of a divorce, but I'm also thirsty and the can of "COKE" in the fridge seems appealing.

Most of the Psych I've read is Shawn/Gus, but this is a really cute Gen fic:

Mirror Mirror (and two times more) by Danvers. (Gen) Three AUs: Shawn the criminal, Shawn the TV cop, Shawn the psychic.

Sherlock!

John and Sherlock Make a Baby (From Stuff they Find Around the Flat) by AnnLarimer and Rosencrantz. (could be gen of John/Sherlock) Absolutely hilarious crack!fic about Sherlock's latest interest in staving off boredom.

I Used to Live Alone Before I Knew You by etothepii. (John/Sherlock) Fabulous fusion with Good Omens. Where Mycroft is an angel, Sherlock is a demon, and John is still John.

Homemaking by rageprufrock. (Gen) How John goes from wounded war vet to having a home.

Just a Minor Peerage / Declarations of Mutual Devotion by waketosleep. (Gen) How John Watson became a baroness. (Hint: Mycroft always has schemes.)

Finger on the Trigger by toestastegood. (John/Sherlock) Assassin!John AU.
