Author's Summary:
If someone had told Stiles back in high school that he would be an Oscar winning actor by the time he turned 25, he would’ve probably told Scott to punch them. The thing is, though… they would’ve been right. Which makes returning to Beacon Hills, center of all that is supernatural and better left avoided, all the more awkward.

Zosofi uses Stiles' fame to highlight the sometimes uncomfortable abnormality of his life, from dealing with the supernatural in high school, to finding himself unable to blend into a crowd at 25. There's a lot more than that going on in this story as well: humor, past trauma, rebuilding pack ties, run ins with a shapeshifter mafia, slow build romance, and snippets from Stiles movies and interviews. But the author wrangles what could have been a sprawling mess into a nicely focused plotline, mainly by keeping it all pretty Stiles-centric.

It's set post-canon, with additional back story that includes Peter almost killing Stiles when he was in college, and Stiles avoiding Beacon Hills for years while taking a class and then small roles that led the way to him eventually winning Best Supporting Actor.

I like that everyone in the pack (sans Peter & Jackson) is involved. Deputy Derek Hale still seems very much himself, but with "less emotional constipation," which works for me, and works for his relationship with Stiles. The shifter mafia subplot livens up the middle. I also like that Stiles uses memories of Peter to help himself play a serial killer, and that many of his other movies involve parallels with his life too.

Despite the large cast, there's a lot of focus on Stiles' self deprecating humor and musings, so it's even better if you enjoy that as much as I do. It's hard to pin this down as humor, romance, character study, action, or pack feelings, but that's a good thing here; it's got each of those in places, and yet it's a straight forward and very enjoyable read.
