Author's Summary: Mary lives. Some things change, some things don't, and Dean's just postponing the inevitable.
This story contains incest in the purist sense of the word. Please be warned.
The oldest incest pairing in fandom history--Princess Leia/Luke Skywalker--is somewhat more acceptable to people because (a) they didn't know they were related, (b) they never grew up together, and (c) George Lucas hadn't planned for them to be sibling until the second movie. And in a weird way, I can see the plausibility of canon Sam/Dean incest: they lost their mother at a young age and had to take care of each other, they fight demons on a regular basis and there's always the possibility that one of them might die, and they have only each other to depend on.
Yet For You As Yet is different. In this AU, there was no demon and Mary never died. Sam and Dean grew up in a normal suburban family like most other kids, but against all odds, they fell in love with each other. Honestly, why would any kid like his/her same-sex sibling at an age where they're fighting for parents' love/newest toys/plastation/access to car/etc.? It's a love that doesn't make sense, and probably that's what makes the angst and tension so much stronger. There's a lot of power dynamics in the story since Dean is older (four years is a huge difference when you're a teenager) and the 'favourite son', and so, I wouldn't say this is a story for everyone.
Why did I like this story seeing that I don't normally read incest? Well, I guess I just can't say no to heavy angst with a tender and loving ending.
