Review:
After the events of Mutany on the Bounty (and due to especially flagrant miscommunication, Ray) Fraser takes that transfer to Ottowa. Over the next few months, he and Ray exchange letters. Since written correspondence not only requires more thought than conversation, but also allows more time to consider what is being said, the letters serve to improve Ray and Fraser's relationship. That is, until a note in strange handwriting that may or may not be Ray's sends Fraser into a spiral of confusion and hope mere days before they are supposed to see each other again for the first time since Fraser's departure.

I'm a sucker for long DS fic, miscommunication fic, and AUs, so really this is the perfect story for me. Fraser and Ray are wonderfully in character, their letters are amusing and yet meaningful, and Dief rocks like Dief should rock. My favorite aspect of this fic is the way Ray and Fraser slowly rebuild their friendship through the medium of letters, long before they consider any other possible developments in their relationship. It's certainly more believable than canon (physical violence = love!), and far more satisfying. A long, lovely story.

Really? It works for me (and I checked it yesterday and just now).

(Though I noticed it wasn't on the website, and was very frustrated -- mrks is much more reliable than dueslash.)

Let me see if I can find another link.

Grr. As far as I can see, this is the only copy on the net. What kind of error message are you getting when you try to open the link?

The "Page not available" one. I tried it twice. I'll try it again.

Uh...I don't remember. (I read this and wrote the rec a long time ago.) However 'the one with the vomiting' sounds very intriguing. Who is vomiting? Why is there vomiting?

Ah, see, I don't remember. And this definitely wasn't it - reread Belles Lettres over the weekend. Very fuzzy. ^_^ No, it was a misunderstanding fic where Fraser wound up back in Canada and was just tearing himself apart inside over loving Ray, and unfortunately it involved a lot of vomiting. Well, I think the second draft had less vomiting ... But I don't remember the author or anything. It might've been post-CotW, actually.

Heh. Well, I'll keep my eye out for the vomiting fic and if I find it, I'll let you know:)
